Sam Hanna Lives On: LL Cool J Brings His NCIS: LA Character to the Main Series

The rapper and actor is returning to the NCISverse, reprising his role as Sam Hanna.

Breaking news this morning on Instagram from the #NCISverse reveals that fan favorite LL Cool J will be reprising the role of Sam Hanna that he created on NCIS: Los Angeles on the mothership show.

In the Instagram, LL says, “Back on set, baby! NCIS. Let’s get it.”

And the post reads: “Like no time has passed. 👏👏😎😎 #NCISverse #NCIS #LLCOOLJ #SamHanna #GuestStar #Drama #WhatToWatch #NCISLA #TV”

Sam Hanna has previously appeared on NCIS in the crossover episodes and then moved to NCIS: Hawaii for its third season after LA was canceled.

His return to NCIS – for now – is a one-episode guest-starring role on Monday, April 18.

The tune-in info reads: “When a trio of combat vets is found murdered in a D.C. motel room, NCIS tracks down a suspect who refuses to talk to anyone but Sam Hanna.”

But before that, NCIS will return with new episodes on March 24 when, after a Navy Lieutenant’s death reveals ties to Special Agent Sawyer (Zane Holtz), Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and Knight (Katrina Law) uncover a murder linked to a wealthy family. Meanwhile, Parker (Gary Cole) discovers a shocking connection between his mother’s death and Lily.

NCIS airs Monday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Streams next day on Paramount+.
