Grey’s Anatomy Star Jesse Williams Opens Up About Ex-Wife’s Relationship in Court

Jesse Williams and ex-wife Aryn Drake-Lee are in a heated dispute over her new boyfriend, with the Grey’s Anatomy star demanding to know more about him, In Touch exclusively reports.

On May 23, Aryn filed an emergency motion to remove Jesse’s legal team from the case, citing “egregious misconduct, including fraud on the court, use of hearsay evidence instead of valid evidence, and multiple violations of her constitutional rights to a fair trial.”

Jesse and Aryn split in 2017 after nearly five years of marriage and two children together. They reached a settlement in 2020, but have been in ongoing legal battles since.

Late last year, Jesse asked the court to change the custody schedule to 50/50 and asked for sole legal custody over medical decisions. Aryn does not object to Jesse having more time with the children, but has some dissenting opinions on the proposal.

Jesse asserted: “My children and I have a very close and deeply loving relationship. There is absolutely no reason for Aryn to have more time with them than I do.” He also accused Aryn of refusing to answer questions about her new boyfriend.

In response, Aryn accused Jesse of constant bullying and threatened to take her to court if she did not comply with his demands.

The court previously granted Jesse sole legal custody after a hearing, which Aryn objected to, saying she was not allowed to present evidence. She has filed an appeal that is pending.

In the new filing, Aryn accuses Jesse’s attorney of regularly making statements regarding medical decisions, behavior, and communications without valid evidence, violating the court’s evidentiary standard.

She also attached a transcript of the March 20 court hearing, which included a question about Aryn’s new boyfriend.

Jesse’s attorney said that under the current court order, the couple cannot introduce a new sexual partner to their children if they have not been dating for at least six months. However, they do not know when Aryn introduced her boyfriend to the children, and Jesse asked Aryn to provide information about how long they have known each other but has not received a response.

Jesse told the judge: “This is not about anyone’s personal life. I congratulate her. She also agreed in the order that when she puts someone on the list to pick up the children, she must provide contact information to the other party.”

He further explained that when he has a new nanny or partner, he provides a photo ID, driver’s license, and phone number to Aryn to ensure that he knows who will pick up the children in the big city.

“She said that person was added to the pick-up list, but when I asked for contact information, she refused,” Jesse said.

Aryn denied that anyone was added to the pick-up list.

The court said Aryn did not need to provide anything more because the judge would not order additional information about her boyfriend.

As for Jesse’s request to remove his attorney, he argued that there was no emergency and that the request should be denied.

Jesse’s attorney said: “Aryn filed an appeal on May 14, 2025, and this is the third time she has used this tactic to invalidate the court’s decisions. Aryn has not demonstrated harm to the children under California law to qualify for an emergency order. This request should be denied.”

The judge has yet to make a final decision.
