Yellowstone star Kevin Costner’s new two-part movie Horizon: An American Saga has confirmed its UK release dates.
The Western film charts the four years of the Civil War in the late 1800s, exploring the conflict through the lens of the families, friends and foes who are trying to discover what it means to be the United States of America.
UK viewers don’t have long to wait, with Chapter One being released in cinemas on June 28 and Chapter Two following on August 16 — the same days as the previously announced US release dates.
The film boasts a star-studded cast including Stranger Things actor Jamie Campbell Bower, Dickinson’s Ella Hunt, Anatomy of a Scandal’s Sienna Miller, Avatar’s Sam Worthington and The Hunger Games’ Jena Malone.
As well as starring in the blockbuster, Costner will also take on the role of director for the first time in 20 years.
“Horizon: An American Saga tells the story of that journey in an honest and forthcoming way, highlighting the points of view and consequences of the characters’ life-and-death decisions,” said Costner in a statement.
“America’s expansion into the west was one that was fraught with peril and intrigue from the natural elements, to the interactions with the indigenous peoples who lived on the land, and the determination and at many times ruthlessness of those who sought to settle it.”
Costner is currently starring in the American drama series Yellowstone, which follows a family who owns the largest ranch in Montana. The first part of season five premiered on Paramount+ in November 2022.
The show was confirmed to be concluded last year after Costner withdrew the role of John Dutton, with the final batch of episodes set to arrive in November after multiple production delays.
