Virgin River star Alexandra Breckenridge has teased an exciting season seven filming update after celebrating a milestone
Fans of Virgin River, brace yourselves for a speedy return to your favorite small town drama—the show’s seventh season might just be on the horizon sooner than expected, according to star Alexandra Breckenridge.
The actress behind Mel Monroe is currently in the midst of production for the upcoming season alongside Martin Henderson, who reprises his role as Jack Sheridan. The two are set to unravel that edge-of-your-seat cliffhanger we were left with at the end of season six.
There have been some unsettling plot twists: Jack’s ex, Charmaine (portrayed by Lauren Hammersley), seems to have vanished into thin air instead of walking down the aisle, while Mel faces a heart-wrenching choice concerning her patient Marley’s (Rachel Drance) newborn.
Although there’s no official release date yet for season seven, which is being filmed in scenic Vancouver, rumor has it the release could roll around by early 2026.
But here’s a juicy nugget straight from Breckenridge’s Instagram Stories—she’s wrapping up filming soon! reports the Mirror US.
This hints that die-hard fans might just get to binge-watch new episodes come the end of 2025.
In her heartfelt post, Breckenridge expressed gratitude towards fans for their birthday messages—they celebrated her turning 43 last Thursday (15th May).
Additionally, she spilled the beans about ramping up activity on her personal YouTube channel and fessed up to why her video sharing has been scarce as of late.
“Because I’ve been so busy filming Virgin River season seven,” she explained.
“I haven’t been able to do all of my cooking videos as much as I wanted to, or keep up with the garden or anything.
“But I did start a YouTube channel, which has little to no content on it.”
Fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Breckenridge has vowed to post more content once her hectic schedule eases up after the current season wraps.
She hinted at an imminent break in her busy filming routine, mentioning that the latest chapter of Virgin River won’t be long in production.
Breckenridge shared, “Once I’m done this season, which will be soon,” but got momentarily sidetracked by her own reflection, commenting on her less-than-perfect hair day: “My hair is really dirty, it’s gross. It’s quite humid out here in Georgia, so I’m a little bit sweaty and yucky.”
Regaining focus, she elaborated on her post-filming plans: “But, once I’m done, I’m gonna start keeping up with all things gardens, cooking and chickens.”
With Breckenridge currently in Georgia, it seems the cast might be enjoying a brief hiatus before heading back to Vancouver to put the final touches on Virgin River’s seventh season.
This sparks speculation about a potential late 2025 release for the beloved Netflix series. Keep your eyes peeled for updates.
