Kleintank plays the head of the FBI fly team unit. His last episode as Scott airs May 7.
“After much thought and consideration, I’ve made the difficult decision to leave FBI International,” the actor said. “This decision is driven by my unwavering commitment to my family, whose love and well-being are paramount in my life. I’m deeply grateful for the extraordinary cast and crew of the show, who have not only been colleagues but also a family away from home. Their unwavering dedication and remarkable talents have made every moment on set an unforgettable journey that has enriched my life in countless ways. Finally, I would also like to extend my thanks to the fans who have supported us through the first three seasons.”
Kleintank was tapped in July of 2021 to serve as one of the leads of FBI: International, the third series in Dick Wolf’s hit FBI drama franchise. The drama follows the elite operatives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s International Fly Team that’s headquartered in Budapest.
In February, Kleintank’s co-star Heida Reed left the drama after playing Special Agent Jamie Kellett since 2021. In her final episode, Kellett revealed she is “leaving this, the Fly Team,” and transferred to the Washington, D.C. school office. She explained to Scott that after her sister died by suicide, she had promised to “live my life for the both of us,” adding “I have served my country, fell in love, I ran away from my grief” and now, “ it’s time to go back home.”
Dick Wolf, Matt Olmstead, Michael Katleman, Ernesto Alcalde, Arthur W. Forney and Peter Jankowski serve as executive producers of FBI: International. It is produced by Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with CBS Studios.
Earlier this month, the series — as well as FBI and FBI: Most Wanted — were renewed by CBS.
Kleintank is repped by Robert Stein Management, Innovative Artists and attorney Stewart Brookman.
