Alongside CBS’ usual crime-centric darlings (looking at you, FBI and NCIS), a new anagram has been added to the slate: DMV, a workplace comedy set in one of the worst places on earth. There’s tons more to explore across CBS’ 2025-2026 slate, but here’s 10 of their most exciting new and returning shows.
10‘Tracker’
CBS boasts a lot of #1 shows, but only Tracker boasts the title of the #1 series on television. Based on the novel The Never Game and starring Justin Hartley, Tracker follows the life of survivalist and (you guessed it) tracker Colter Shaw as he assists local law enforcement in tracking down missing persons.
Season 2 saw Shaw’s world expand big time. The past caught up to the renowned survivalist in a big way, leading Shaw and his team to some big revelations — including the identity of his father’s killer. Season 3 will surely Shaw and his team grappling with the implications of that twist, as well as some of the good ‘ol clue-following viewers have come to know and love. The show also set up a new villain for Shaw to go head-to-head with, and this one might just be worse than any he’s faced before.
9‘DMV’
Mondays at 8:30 PM
CBS’ sitcom lineup has something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for ’90s era family shenanigans with Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, interested in some silly neighbor dynamics in The Neighborhood, or hoping to see some ghosts get up to some supernatural nonsense in Ghosts, CBS’ sitcoms are unexpected delights. What the network is really missing is something that reflects the absurdity of working in customer-facing jobs in 2025, but that is set to change this year.
Fall will see the network add to their offerings with workplace comedy DMV, a single-camera sitcom based on a short story by Katherine Heiny. The show will take place at — surprise, surprise — the DMV, and follow a cast of colorful, minimum-wage-earning characters who work at one of the most frustrating places in the world. The customers they serve will no doubt make for some of the weirdest, funniest, and definitely most infuriating characters in the show.
8‘FBI’
Mondays at 9:00 PM
The franchise’s flagship remains as strong as ever. CBS made the rare decision to give FBI a two-season order earlier this year, ensuring the show an eighth and ninth season that will air through to 2027. The show stars Missy Peregrym and is centered around the cases and lives of FBI agents working in the famed bureau’s New York City field office.
7‘CIA’
Mondays at 10:00 PM
Not much more has been released about the show, but CBS did say that the duo will find that “their differences may actually be their strength.” There’s just something so magnetic about watching two opposites work together. While only Ellis has been announced as a cast member so far, it’s surely only a matter of time until the show finds the Scully to his Mulder.
6‘NCIS’ Night
Tuesdays at 8:00 PM
Craving more NCIS in your life? Jones-ing for more of those upstart naval investigators? Then CBS has the lineup for you. Starting Tuesdays, viewers can dive into as much NCIS as they can handle with a triple helping of NCIS, NCIS: Origins, and NCIS: Sydney. That’s right: Tuesdays are exclusively for the Navy (and all navy-related crimes).
While the NCIS world is no stranger to spin-offs (it currently has a whopping six to its name), NCIS: Sydney and NCIS: Origins both feature something very different from their namesakes. Sydney is the first international spin-off of the franchise, while Origins is a prequel series that follows NCIS’ Jethro Gibbs (originally played by Mark Harmon, now portrayed by Austin Stowell) through the early years of his career. And if that’s not enough NCIS for you, never fear: NCIS: Tony & Ziva is on its way to Paramount+ this fall.
5‘Elsbeth’
Thursdays at 10PM
New York’s pluckiest lawyer first came onto audiences’ screens in The Good Fight, a spin-off of The Good Wife. Carrie Preston‘s magnetic presence as attorney Elsbeth Tascioni eventually landed her a wildly successful spin-off of her own. Now heading into its third season, Elsbeth is a critical and audience darling, featuring a star-studded lineup of guest stars — and one of the most colorful wardrobes on television.
Elsbeth’s second season featured a host of big-name celebrities to flesh out its titular character’s universe, including Nathan Lane, Mary-Louise Parker, Alyssa Milano, Vanessa Williams, and Michael Emerson — Preston’s real-life husband. Season 2 of Elsbeth concluded with a full-blown musical reenactment of Chicago’s “Cell Block Tango.” A show unafraid to be a little out there and go full camp is definitely one to keep an eye on, and CBS agrees: it was renewed for season 3 back in February.
4‘Sheriff Country’
Fridays at 8:00 PM
From the world of Fire Country comes Sheriff Country, the first spin-off of the Noun-Country universe. Fire Country sees convict Bode Donovan (series creator and star Max Thieriot) volunteer to join a fire-fighting program for prisoners in an effort to shorten his prison sentence. He ends up stationed in his hometown in Northern California and must deal with all the drama that comes with being a fire-fighting former convict.
Sheriff Country takes a different tone from Fire. Starring Morena Baccarin, Sheriff Country will see Baccarin portray Sheriff Mickey Fox, a “straight shooter” based out of the small town of Edgewater. She has no shortage of issues to deal with, from her ex-con father (W. Earl Brown) with a penchant for growing marijuana, to her estranged daughter, who will apparently find herself embroiled in some kind of mystery. Fox sure has her work cut out for her.
3‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’
Thursdays at 8:00 PM
Much like Elsbeth, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is a spin-off of a spin-off. The show focuses on Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan), the elder brother of The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon‘s Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons), and his marriage to Mandy McAllister (Emily Osment). The two wed when Mandy, who is 12 years Georgie’s senior, discovers she’s pregnant with his child after a hookup between the two. Audiences know the fate of the marriage thanks to Georgie’s presence on The Big Bang Theory, and the show plays neatly with the dynamics of a relationship viewers know may fail.
After the success of The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, another spin-off seemed like a no-brainer for the big-brain franchise. Georgie & Mandy is a hit on CBS — it’s now the #1 comedy, and was renewed for a second season in February 2025. Audiences just love the Cooper family.
2‘Ghosts’
Thursdays at 8:30 PM
Ghosts has a bit of everything: comedy by the buckets, fun supernatural lore, a very silly found family, other-worldly romance, and characters you can’t help but love. The show was picked up for another two seasons by CBS shortly before its season 4 finale, which saw Hetty’s (Rebecca Wisocky) demonic ex-husband, Elias (Matt Walsh) trick Jay into making a deal with the devil. It’ll be up to the ghosts and livings alike to find a way out of that spooky nutshell when the show returns on Thursdays this fall.
1‘Boston Blue’
Fridays at 10:00 PM
Blue Bloods is dead. Long live Blue Bloods. The massively popular procedural ended its 14-season run in 2024, but CBS wasted no time in spinning it off: Boston Blue, starring Donnie Wahlberg and Sonequa Martin-Green, will begin airing on Fridays in the fall.
