We hate to be the bearers of bad news, Blue Bloods fans, but there will not be a new episode of the Reagan family drama again this week. (Womp.) Instead of police investigations and family dinners, CBS viewers will be treated to more basketball courtesy of the NCAA tournament.
Blue Bloods has been a Friday night mainstay since 2010, but that is ending soon. In case you missed it, CBS has announced that season 14 will be the end of Blue Bloods. With the show’s finale looming, longtime fans of the NYPD procedural are going to have to get used to finding alternate plans for their Friday nights. They’ll have another chance to get accustomed to the change on March 29, when the show is once again on hiatus.
There is a good reason: It’s March Madness! This Friday, CBS is airing two Sweet Sixteen games: Marquette vs. NC State and Duke vs. Houston.
After this week, viewers will have two new episodes to look forward to. On April 5, Blue Bloods returns with “Bad Faith.” According to CBS, the episode promises the return of a “familiar face.” And “Shadowland,” which airs on April 12, will find Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) teaming up to solve a homicide involving voodoo.
What have fans of the show been up to in their spare time? Trying to save the beloved drama. The hashtag #savebluebloods has been trending on X (formerly Twitter), and the Save Blue Bloods account has garnered more than 13,000 signatures in a petition to save the show.
