EXCLUSIVE: Amanda Arcuri (Degrassi: The Next Generation, Watson) and Caroline Rhea (Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Phineas and Ferb) are set to recur in CBS‘ Fire Country spinoff series Sheriff Country, led by Morena Baccarin.
CBS ordered Sheriff Country to series for the 2025-26 broadcast season. The series is produced by CBS Studios, as is the mothership series, Fire Country.
Sheriff Country follows straight-shooting sheriff Mickey Fox (Baccarin), the stepsister of Cal Fire’s division chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr of Fire Country), who investigates criminal activity as she patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater while contending with her ex-con father (W. Earl Brown) and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter.
Arcuri will bring to life Skye, who is smart but troubled, and the daughter of Sheriff Mickey Fox and her ex-husband, Travis Fraley (Christopher Gorham). Four months sober, she’s drawn to a boyfriend who endangers her recovery. Sensitive yet self-sabotaging, she’s fighting to rebuild her life.
Rhea will play Gina, who is deadpan and efficient. She is Sheriff Mickey Fox’s assistant and the face of the Edgewater County Sheriff’s Office. A lifelong local with a colorful past, she’s one of the few who can speak truth to Mickey.
The cast also includes Michele Weaver as Cassidy, a deputy in the Edgewater County Sheriff’s Office who was inspired by Mickey to join law enforcement. Cassidy places Mickey on a pedestal but must now figure out what kind of deputy she wants to be. Matt Lauria was recently announced for the role of Boone, Sheriff Mickey Fox’s smart, tough, and capable deputy and longtime partner.
Sheriff Country‘s initial episode is written by Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, with story by Phelan, Rater, and Max Thieriot. Executive producers are showrunner Matt Lopez, Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, Jerry Bruckheimer, and KristieAnne Reed for JBTV.
Arcuri is repped by Amanda Rosenthal Talent Agency, Thruline Entertainment, and Innovative Artists. Rhea is repped by Gersh.
