According to a new report from Deadline.com, and their sources, CBS has officially renewed their comedy series Ghosts for a brand new season 5.
In fact, they gave it a super early renewal way back in late February of 2025. During Ghosts’ season 5 renewal announcement, CBS also renewed their other top shows: Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, NCIS: Origins and Matlock for new seasons.
Amy Reisenbach who is the president of CBS Entertainment had some wonderful things to say about the shows they renewed stating, “This season, our new and returning series continue to showcase CBS as the leader in launching and programming the biggest hits with mass appeal for broadcast and streaming viewers.
These returning shows represent a mix of long-standing hits and a new generation of fan favorites. In collaboration with our extraordinarily talented partners in front of and behind the camera, we look forward to delivering another successful season.”
According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, Ghosts’ current season 4 brought in an average of 5.336 million LIVE viewers per episode along with a 0.42 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics.
The most recent episode 21, which aired last Thursday night, May 1, 2025, managed to draw in 4.864 million LIVE viewers and a 0.36 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was episode 3 with 5.818 million LIVE viewers. The least-watched episode was episode 21 with 4.864 million LIVE viewers.
The highest-rated episode was episode 15 with a 0.51 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 20 with a 0.32 ratings score. Yep, those are very solid numbers. So, it’s very easy to understand why CBS jumped to get them renewed early.
