Wait… Patience Did WHAT? Ghosts Season 4 Finale Twist Leaves Fans Shook!

Although Ghosts season 4’s finale featured an appearance from a literal demon, the Satan-obsessed zealot Patience was bizarrely uninterested in his presence. Now that the season finale, season 4, episode 22, “The Devil Went Down to Woodstone,” has arrived, it is fair to surmise that Ghosts season 4’s cast of characters was a mixed bag. Some guest stars, like Justin Kirk’s Mayor Tad, Gideon Adlon’s Abby Pinkus, or Dean Norris as Sam’s estranged father Frank, got solid subplots with well-earned emotional payoffs.

However, others weren’t so lucky. Mary Holland may have been memorably hilarious in 2020’s Happiest Season, but her humorless Ghosts season 4 character Patience the Puritan never gelled well with the rest of the cast. The overarching gag was that Patience was ludicrously zealous about her Christianity, believing anything and everything that seemed fun to be the work of the devil. Isaac even managed to get her to retreat back to the dirt beneath the mansion by revealing she had committed the sin of watching reality TV.
