The couple appeared to be happy in their latest sighting. Now, however, they’ve filed for divorce.
The divorce announcement from Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist came as a shock, especially because the two had recently been spotted together.
The Golden Bachelor couple told the world they were splitting Friday. The two had only been married for three months, as some believe their relationship was all for views.
They tied the knot in January, but have been living apart since then. Gerry, 72, is from Indiana while Theresa, 70, is from New Jersey.
There were rumors that the couple had ended their relationship, but they insisted those weren’t true in their public appearances.
One of those appearances was just two weeks before news of the split. The couple attended the season 28 finale of The Bachelor, when Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson announced their engagement.
They appeared to be happy during the live show. Both expressed their love for Bachelor Nation on Instagram.
“Reuniting with old dear friends and meeting new friends. What could be better than that,” Gerry wrote in a post after the show.
Theresa posted photos of her and some of the ladies of Season 28, captioning it: “It was so much fun getting to see everyone last night! I really loved watching Joey’s season.”
When it comes to the divorce, Gerry said the two have a lot of love for each other, but their living situation was too difficult. They’d talked about moving to South Carolina, but never ended up making that happen.
“Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation and so forth, and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage,” he said on Good Morning America.
