FBI: Most Wanted star Edwin Hodge has paid tribute to the show after filming its final episode. Hodge has played FBI Special Agent Ray Cannon on the CBS procedural for three seasons.
Fans of the FBI franchise were shocked in March when CBS canceled both FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International — leaving only the original FBI show on the air for now. CBS is developing a new spinoff based around the CIA — set to star Tom Ellis — but the project is in the early stages.
CBS Canceled Both FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted in March
The FBI: Most Wanted cast wrapped up filming on the season six finale — and last-ever episode — this past week, with Hodge sharing some behind-the-scenes photos with his co-stars on Instagram. The actor also reflected on how much being apart of the FBI franchise meant to him.
“All good things must come to an end. I’m filled with so much abundance and appreciation for this prodigious cast and crew. Thanks to the cast for simply being their authentic selves. My days were filled with laughter every time I went to work.”
Hodge singled out the tireless work of FBI: Most Wanted’s crew for making the show’s fast-paced action sequences possible.
“The crew showed everyday to add their magic to make the show a hit as well,” he wrote. “All teams stayed on deck and I couldn’t be happier with the work environment and ultimately my experience on the show! I’ll hit you with some new gigs this year.”
“All good things must come to an end.”
The actor’s wife, Matlock actress Skye P. Marshall, chimed in to thank the FBI: Most Wanted team as well, writing: “Amazing cast, upfront and behind the camera!! Will miss this show ❤️ Excellent work love.”
Shantel VanSanten — who plays FBI Special Agent Nina Chase in the CBS drama — posed with multiple co-workers, in front of a cherry blossom tree, as her own salute to the show ending.
CBS Has Canceled Six Shows So Far in 2025
Alongside FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International, CBS has canceled Queen Latifah’s action dramas The Equalizer and S.W.A.T.
New reality format The Summit — which tested its contestants to extreme physical challenges — was dropped after just a single season in April.
CBS has also axed Damon Wayans Sr. and Jr’s comedy series Poppa’s House after one season.
“Gonna miss these cherry blossoms 🌸 🩷 they made my days better and brighter @roxysternberg @kelly_cattani @thefashtress,” she wrote via Instagram.
While two FBI shows are ending this season, CBS has committed to the future of the franchise. It was reported earlier this year that the network and producer Dick Wolf are developing a FBI new companion show that will feature Bureau agents working in tandem with the CIA.
Wolf is partnering with FBI: Most Wanted showrunner David Hudgins as well as Nicole Perlman (Captain Marvel) and former CIA officer David Chasteen to develop the show. There were initial plans for the CIA characters to be introduced in a backdoor pilot airing in place of an FBI episode, but CBS is now aiming to give the show a straight-to-series order instead.
CBS has said the CIA series will follow a “dedicated, strait-laced FBI agent and a street-smart CIA agent [who are] are part of a new, clandestine taskforce charged with solving and preventing domestic terrorism in and around New York City.”
