Eva-Jane Willis and Jesse Lee Soffer are going undercover on tonight’s high-stakes episode of FBI: International Season 4. As the show draws closer to its series finale, Smitty and Mitchell are targeting a suspected American arms dealer with a long list of crimes and an arsenal of stolen weapons. Fly Team sends them to infiltrate his operation while he’s in Vienna with the goods, and, for Smitty, at least, things are about to get messy. Collider can exclusively share a new sneak peek at the upcoming Episode 19, titled “Flinch Now and It’s Over,” that sees her having a few drinks with a real charmer, though she’s not looking for love.
The footage opens with Smitty in the middle of what first appears to be a date with a man who’s opening up about the woman who broke his heart. He says she could “set him straight” and offers her another drink, but she’s more interested in getting him alone so they can get down to business. Once they’re away from everyone on a balcony, he offers to sell her some illegal drugs, with a bit of flirting on the side, and she gives him the cash with the promise of seeing where the night takes them. It all goes according to plan as she tries to arrest him on the spot once he turns his back, though he manages to break free and leap onto a vehicle just below them. Fortunately, the Fly Team is waiting not far away, setting up for an arrest before he can get far.
Smitty will have a lot on her plate while undercover, as she also gets close to the arms dealer’s wife. Mitchell, meanwhile, will be pulled between the mission and a bit of personal drama. As seen in previously released images, he’s in for a shocker when his abusive biological father, Dean, arrives in Budapest in search of him after his prison sentence was commuted. Although Mitchell has no interest in dealing with his estranged dad, the two will inevitably come face-to-face to sort things out. Dean is played by former The Shield and S.W.A.T. star Kenny Johnson, who most recently reprised his recurring role as serial killer Charlie Pickings in Mayor of Kingstown Season 3. Hussain Pirani penned the episode while Attila Szalay directed.
When Will the Fly Team Sign Off for the Final Time in ‘FBI: International’?
The end of FBI: International is now less than a month away after the show’s shocking cancellation back in March alongside FBI: Most Wanted. FBI nights will remain somewhat intact thanks to Dick Wolf and Craig Turk’s mothership series getting a three-season renewal while the new spin-off, FBI: CIA, continues development, but it’s nonetheless a major shakeup. Under showrunner Matt Olmstead, there are still a few more cases for the Fly Team to close, leading up to a supersized two-hour finale on May 13 that will pit the agents against an international serial killer in Tokyo.
Regarding the show’s end, Vanessa Vidotto has been thankful for the opportunity, saying in a statement to fans, “It’s been challenging and beautiful to have played Cameron Vo. As an actor, being able to learn on set every day for 10 months a year, it’s been the best intense learning experience. I needed this chapter, I’m filled with gratitude.” Season 4 has seen her, Soffer, and Willis share the screen with Christina Wolfe and Carter Redwood.
