After Drama On Set, Does The Original Twilight Cast Get Along Today?

The cast of Twilight went through a lot together, but did that bring them closer together or break them apart?

Nearly a decade after the Twilight saga concluded its theatrical run, the fascination surrounding the franchise remains strong. It might have something to do with the fact that the Twilight movies essentially launched Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner into superstardom. Then again, it might also be because there’s been talk of rebooting the franchise (in the past, there were also plans for a Lautner-led spinoff) lately.

And while other well-known film franchises have held reunions over the years, Twilight is yet to host one for its cast. Considering everything that has gone on among the cast though, one can’t help but wonder if a reunion is really a good idea. That said, fans are also curious if the cast has even remained in touch after all this time.

There Was Drama On The Set Of The Twilight SagaThe first Twilight movie came out in 2008 but by then, the cast had already been working together for some time. And because much of the cast was similar in age, everyone became close quite quickly.

Back in 2008, Stewart even told Vanity Fair that the group got along really well at that time even if some may have thought there would be tension. The actress also particularly became close to co-star Nikki Reed. Unfortunately, things didn’t stay this way as production on the rest of the Twilight movies went on.

As Reed would reveal to Seventeen in 2012, the franchise’s success “change[d] the dynamic” among the cast members as the years went on. The actress even stated that they were “not all best friends” and that by the time they finish working on the final film, she didn’t expect everyone to hang out together.

Ashley Greene, who also starred as one of the Cullen vampires, would also later confirm to People that there was “some drama” on set as they worked together for five years. The actress also explained that because the cast became its own family, there were some “tiffs here and there.”

On her podcast, The Twilight Effect, Greene also recalled that there were times when she and Reed didn’t necessarily get along while working together as they were “thrust into a world of craziness.”

The actress explained that there were moments when the co-stars “were cool and then we didn’t want anything to do with each other and then we were cool again.”

The Twilight Also Saw Rob Pattinson And Kristen Stewart Fall In Love And Then Break Up
The Twilight saga starts with Stewart’s Bella torn between the vampire Edward (Pattinson) and the werewolf Jacob (Lautner). And while the love triangle goes on for some time onscreen, Pattinson and Stewart fell for each other quite quickly (despite warnings from the crew that it was a bad idea).

The relationship between the franchise’s main stars would eventually be made public. While their actual love story made fans cheer for Edward and Bella more, it also made for an awkward situation when the stars later broke up after Stewart was caught cheating on Pattinson with director Rupert Sanders.

The couple reportedly tried to stay together soon after the scandal broke out, but they eventually split for good.

Are Of The Twilight Cast In Touch Today?
Years after the Twilight saga ended, much of the cast had gone their separate ways as far as projects are concerned. In recent years, Stewart won critical acclaim for her portrayal of the late Princess Diana in the historical drama Spencer.

Pattinson also garnered a lot of praise after taking on the iconic character of Batman in Matt Reeves’ 2022 film The Batman. At the same time, both Reed and Greene, along with Twilight co-stars Kellan Lutz and Jackson Rathbone, have also gone on to star in several movies over the years.

And while an onscreen reunion is yet to happen, fans may be happy to learn that several of the cast members have already met up over the years. For instance, Greene, Rathbone, Lutz, and Peter Facinelli (who played their ‘dad’ in the movie) attended Comic Con Liverpool in 2022 together where they took photos with fans and signed autographs.

The group even joined a live panel discussion where fans got to ask them some questions.
