It may have felt like an eternity (ok, so just over a year) but the final movie in the After series, After Everything, was finally released in the UK yesterday, landing on Prime Video on the 3rd October. But is Tessa, aka Josephine Langsford, in After Everything?
After landing in US cinemas in September, the film series follows the love story between Tessa Young (Josephine Langford) and Hardin Scott (Hero Fiennes Tiffin), who meet in their first year of college, and go on many ups and downs in their relationship.
However, following the film’s release, there’s been some confusion amongst fans on social media as to whether or not main cast member Josephine Langford, who plays Tessa Young, featured in the film.
Many took to Twitter and Instagram to ask if the character of Tessa would be making an appearance, with one asking: “Why are peopling saying Josephine won’t be in it?” and another said: “Just an FYI but this movie isn’t a Hessa film!”
After Everything appears to mainly focus on Hardin’s journey with Hardin travelling to Portugal to make amends with a former flame Natalie (Mimi Keene).

So is Josephine Langford in After Everything? Here’s what you need to know.
Is Josephine Langford in After Everything?
In short yes, Josephine Langford does appear in After Everything, however she does not appear in the majority of the film.
Fans were worried Josephine may not be appear in the new film at all, as the trailer mainly focusses on Hardin’s story of travelling to Portugal to make amends with a former flame, Natalie. The trailer also only showed clips of Tessa from the previous four movies.
There was also confusion amongst fans as the fourth film After Every Happy was originally said to be the last movie in the series, however in August 2022, shortly before the release of After Every Happy it was announced a fifth and final film was in production After Everything.
The film was written by the film’s director Castille Landon, and would be the first of the series films to not be based on Anna Todd’s novels of the same name, which served as original inspiration for the films, and so fans were unsure what role Tessa would have in the new film.
But the good news is Josephine is listed on IMDb as featuring in the film and does appear in the last 15 minutes of the movie, but sadly is just not a lead like before. But still, we can all breathe a sigh of relief.
