No Offense To Wes Mitchell, But There’s Really Only 1 Way To End FBI: International In A Satisfying Manner

There is only one way to end FBI: International that will be fully satisfying, and it doesn’t involve Wes Mitchell (Jesse Lee Soffer). Mitchell’s introduction as the new Fly Team leader has offered opportunities for new stories in FBI: International season 4. Mitchell is more impulsive and emotionally driven than his predecessor, which has caused problems for the team, especially when Vo (Vinessa Vidotto) was shot. Mitchell has been learning how to be successful in his new role, but continues to maintain the emotional edge he brought to the table upon his introduction.

Unfortunately, FBI: International is on the list of shows CBS canceled in 2025, so there isn’t much time to develop Mitchell’s character further. Additionally, the series must wrap up every character’s fate before its finale on May 20, 2025. There is widespread speculation about how the series might end, including whether Mitchell will remain the leader of the Fly Team rather than return to the United States. His storyline with his biological father suggests the latter, and there is a strong reason to allow him to do so.

Vo Taking Over Is The Best Way To End FBI: International
This Choice Would Honor Her Role In The Series

While Mitchell has been growing into his leadership position, he is a late addition to FBI: International. Scott Forrester (Luke Kleintank) was the team leader for the first three seasons, and Mitchell was brought in to replace him after Kleintank chose not to renew his FBI: International contract. Jesse Lee Soffer has done a good job with the role, but the series should end with the Fly Team having a leader who has been with the procedural from the beginning.

Vo is the best character for this position. She has been loyal to the Fly Team since the series premiere, so she deserves a promotion. Vo is currently vying with Raines (Carter Redwood) for a GS-14 position elsewhere, but it would be more meaningful if she were to become the new head of the Fly Team as the series draws to a close. This ending would acknowledge her hard work and dedication; additionally, she has been advising Mitchell throughout his time as leader, so it’s logical for Vo to step into that position herself.

Why Vo Didn’t Replace Scott Forrester When He Left The Fly Team
She Isn’t A GS-14 Yet

When Vo suggested that Mitchell take over the Fly Team, she told him that she couldn’t do it herself because she wasn’t “a GS-14 Supervisory Special Agent… yet.” Since she didn’t have the qualification, she couldn’t move into a supervisory position, and she wasn’t sure she wanted one because she liked being a case agent. Thus, at the time, it made more sense for Mitchell to be the team leader. However, Vo’s comments made it clear she was hoping he would train her to eventually go into leadership.

If Mitchell becomes the latest character to leave the FBI universe, there will be an opening for Vo to take over his leadership role.

The GS-14 issue may be resolved before the end of FBI: International, since Vo and Raines are currently competing for a GS-14 position. Additionally, if Mitchell becomes the latest character to leave the FBI universe, there will be an opening for Vo to take over his leadership role. This would be the best ending for Vo’s character, especially since she was hoping to eventually be ready for leadership.
