Fans of Virgin River were thrilled to discover that a key cast member from the show also made a guest appearance in another massively popular TV series.
The beloved Netflix production traces the countryside love story of Mel Monroe (portrayed by Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), interwoven with complex personal challenges and juicy drama from around town.
A younger character from the town, Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale), has developed a relationship with Denny (Kai Bradbury), surprising grandson of local doctor Vernon ‘Doc’ Mullins (Tim Matheson), who turned up in season four.
The recent turn of events leaves Lizzie expecting a baby and facing a harrowing decision after learning that Denny suffers from Huntington’s disease. This means their unborn child has a 50 percent chance of inheriting the disorder as well.
Their tale will continue in the eagerly anticipated seventh season, but in the meantime, actor Bradbury hasn’t been idling away. He made a guest appearance on the CBS show Fire Country.
Set in the same Northern Californian backdrop, the series follows ex-con Bode Leone (Max Thieriot) who seeks salvation through joining forces with volunteer firefighters to combat wildfires and other calamities.
Bradbury featured in an episode titled One Last Time, which premiered in March, playing Rocco, a surfer caught up in a terrible accident.
On Reddit, one fan quipped: “Denny finally did something interesting… kinda.
“But it took a VR + Fire Country actor crossover to do it. He (Kai) popped up as ‘surfer impaled on a stick’ in Fire Country S03E15
“So basically he spent an episode trying not to move and looking pained – is he typecast?”
Another user chimed in with their own observation of a Virgin River star making waves elsewhere, commenting below.
“Wait until you watch this past week’s fire country… the guy who is the pot grower on VR is the pot grower’s assistant on fire country.
“It’s like I’m watching a version of the same show just with less nature scenes.”
