Tim Allen’s Leading Lady: Meet Jane Hajduk, His Wife of Nearly 20 Years

Hajduk and Allen are confessed ‘neat nicks’, and they share a child, Elizabeth, who appeared alongside Allen as his on-screen daughter in the Disney+ series The Santa Clauses

He’s best known for his hit show Home Improvement and a string of Christmas films, but behind the scenes and away from the spotlight, actor Tim Allen is supported by his equally talented wife, Jane Hajduk, who he began dating in 2001.

So who exactly is 58-year-old Hajduk, and what makes her and her 71-year-old husband’s marriage so unique? Let’s take a closer look.

She’s also an actress

Husband Tim may be instantly recognisable to many thanks to the string of hits he’s starred in, but Hajduk has done her fair share of work in front of the camera too. After kicking off her career in the 1990s with the film Sex Crimes, she went on to appear in a string of television shows including Chicago Hope, Monk and NCIS, and most recently Thee Third Act, per her IMDB page. She also likes to keep it in the family, starring alongside husband Allen in multiple films including Joe Somebody, The Shaggy Dog and Zoom.

She’s Allen’s second wife

Allen was previously married to his college sweetheart Laura Deibel, with whom he shares an adult daughter, Katherine Dick (Allen’s real name is Timothy Alan Dick). The couple wed in 1984 and stayed together until 1999 before eventually finalising their divorce in 2003, according to The Sun. Allen says he learned a lot about himself during his first marriage, and made some big life changes as a result. He told Closer Weekly in 2017: “I’m not the same guy I was the first time [I was married], when I was hiding and doing what people who drink too much do. I was not connecting,” he revealed. “But I’ve been sober for almost 20 years. I’m much more present.”

Acting runs in the family

In 2009, Allen and Hajduk welcomed a daughter, Elizabeth Allen-Dick. The youngster wasted no time following in her parents’ footsteps, bagging a role in the 2022 Disney+ show The Santa Clauses as the on-screen daughter of Allen’s Santa Claus character. The family even made a rare red carpet appearance together in November 2022 when Hajduk showed up at the series’ premiere to support her daughter and husband’s first on-screen collaboration.

She and Allen keep their marriage private

Since the start of their relationship, Hajduk and Allen opted to keep things as private as possible. As reported by People, the couple dated for five years before tying the knot in 2006. The intimate outdoor wedding ceremony – which took place in Colorado in 2006 – was only attended by family members. In October 2024, the couple told People the secret behind their long-lasting marriage: “We talk,” Hajduk revealed. To which Allen responded, “That’s right, we talk. We do. And we’re good buddies.”

She’s a neat freak

Acting aside, another thing Allen and Hajduk have in common is their love for keeping things neat, tidy and somewhat precise. During a 2022 interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Allen admitted that “My wife and I are both neat nicks. But it’s always one item in the house … that’s passive-aggressive fighting. And it happens to be a lamp … I’ll come in, and I go, ‘Why is that lamp over there?’ and I’ll go in and it’s literally six inches to the left.”

She loves a good road trip

Hajduk has probably enjoyed plenty of luxury overseas travel over the years, but apparently she likes to keep it real – and local. During a TV interview with Jimmy Kimmel in 2017, Allen jokingly told the host that Hajduk had wanted to do a special trip for her 50th birthday festivities in a “sewage truck … you call them RVs”. He also revealed the couple have their own boat that they take out cruising when visiting their cottage in Lake Michigan.
