Joan & Chock Keep Proving the Naysayers Wrong—This Golden Bachelorette Couple Is Built to Last

The Golden Bachelorette’s Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple went on another romantic getaway recently, and I love that they’re proving critics wrong. When 62-year-old Joan and 60-year-old Chock got engaged during the final rose ceremony, there was a lot of speculation that their relationship wasn’t the real deal. It’s great to see the couple proving they’re much more than a showmance. They’re the real deal and seem destined to go the distance. I’d go so far as to argue that they rank as one of the franchise’s best couples.

Some of the doubts came when Joan and Chock announced they had no intentions of selling their separate homes. It wasn’t a promising start to the relationship, but the couple has managed to spend almost every day together. Since getting engaged on The Golden Bachelorette season 1, Joan and Chock have been traveling back and forth from her place in Maryland and his in Kansas. It seemed like a bad idea at first, but they’ve made it work. I love that Joan and Chock seem blissfully happy together, and they recently went on yet another romantic getaway.

Joan & Chock Are The Real Deal
They’re More Than Just A Showmance

Joan and Chock have been on several romantic getaways since getting engaged during The Golden Bachelorette season 1 finale. They’ve spent a lot of time in New York City, but they’ve also been to more exotic locations. Joan and Chock went on a romantic getaway to Cancun, and posted the photos on Instagram. They look happy, and I love that they’re proving their critics wrong. I always thought it was unfair to accuse them of being a showmance. If things keep going so well for Joan and Chock, Bachelor Nation will soon be blessed with yet another Golden Bachelor wedding.

Joan & Chock’s Romantic Wine Country Getaway
“With My Favorite Gal By My Side”

Just a few weeks after Joan and Chock posted their Cancun photos, The Golden Bachelorette season 1 couple were traveling to Sonoma for some wine tasting. Chock posted Instagram photos of him and Joan enjoying the beauty of wine country. They look like the perfect couple posed in front of a 300-foot redwood tree. “Sipping wine in California with my favorite gal by my side,” reads Chock’s sweet caption. I think it’s great Joan and Chock get away together so often. It bodes well for the relationship.

Will There Be Another Golden Bachelor Wedding?
They’re Haunted By Gerry & Theresa’s Failure

Chock proposed to Joan in July 2024. It’s been a few months since the couple got engaged, but they are in no hurry to head down the aisle. A lot of people are disappointed by the delay, but I’m relieved. The Golden Bachelor season 1 ended with 72-year-old Gerry Turner marrying 70-year-old Theresa Nist, then divorcing her three months later. I don’t think the brand could handle another divorce, so I’m a big fan of Joan and Chock taking their time.

It’s not like Joan and Chock have disappeared since getting engaged on The Golden Bachelorette season 1. They post about their relationship, and they’ve grown a substantial social media following. Joan has 188K followers on Instagram, and Chock has 80K followers. I wish people would remember that Joan and Chock only knew each other for a few weeks before getting engaged. Instead of rushing into marriage, I think they should keep going on adventures together and posting about the unique challenges of getting remarried later in life.
