“King of Wichita!”: How Chock Chapple Built His Empire—And Why He Won’t Leave for Joan Vassos

The ultimate winner of The Golden Bachelorette, Chock Chapple, has established a name for himself in the insurance and real estate industries. However, this success may influence his relationship with Joan Vassos. Chock and Joan found love through the dating competition, with Chock’s suave demeanor earning him the season’s first one-on-one date. Throughout The Golden Bachelorette season 1, this connection only strengthened. During the finale, Joan chooses Chock as her forever partner, and the insurance executive proposed.

Joan and Chock’s residual fame has allowed them to travel regularly. When the couple is not embracing professional opportunities, they are crossing state lines for friends, family gatherings, and general leisure. It begs the question: how can the couple afford to travel so frequently? Outside the financial gains from appearing on the show, Joan and Chock have found success in their own fields. Chock has a very impressive track record with a net worth of approximately $1.8 million; however, this is unconfirmed.

Chock Has A Business
Chock Has Social Ties

Chock is vocal about his hometown of Wichita, Kansas. The former reality TV star, although a natural on camera, spent most of his life honing his business and management skills through local insurance work. According to Chapple’s LinkedIn, his father and grandfather were insurance professionals dating back to the 1920s. The lineage of insurance professionals didn’t end with them, as he and his children continued the tradition.

Chock Chapple established a full-service insurance agency, “Insurance Services Group,” in January 2020.

This was not Chock’s first business venture, as he owned CIG Insurance from 2004 to 2020. According to an article in The Wichita Eagle, Chock sold the company to “AssuredPartners” before planning his next venture. The star credits his “entrepreneurial spirit” for his continuous success.

Chock has made waves in his hometown. The article’s author refers to the star as “a well-known name in the insurance business.” The article dates long before Chock’s stint on the major television series. The executive made connections and set roots in the big city. Among the nearly 400,000 residents of Wichita, Chock was already a recognizable name.

While it’s unclear what his business may be worth, Chock did not limit himself to one industry. His “entrepreneurial spirit” encouraged him to purchase several properties in the area. These assets have only appreciated in value. Chock said in a video posted to Instagram, revealing, “The cost of living is incredible.” Chock is clearly satisfied with his experiences in the area. So much so that Chock established his business locally.

Chock’s Real Estate Empire
Chock Owns Several Homes

According to The Express, Chock has accumulated approximately $1.8 million. A good percentage of this net is tied up in his numerous real estate investments. Although Chock reportedly owns three houses, the locations are around Kansas and Oklahoma. Chock truly does love the area.

Chock’s primary residence, a ranch-style home, boasts four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The 3,300 square foot home originally accommodated his two children, Taylor and Tyler, but Chock’s kids have left the nest. In a post on Chock’s Instagram page, he congratulates his children for their big move to Charlette, North Carolina. Despite their relocation, Chock hasn’t expressed interest in a permanent move.

Chock’s second house, a Tudor-style home only a half mile away, features a staggering six bedrooms and four bathrooms.

This 5,300-square-foot property, while under Chock’s name, houses his ex-wife, Heather. This space may not have sufficed as he converted a storage unit into a man cave. Chock posted an image of himself alongside his son Tyler, enjoying the plush leather seats and renovated unit. The $200k unit has “a mezzanine terrace, full bathroom, wet bar, and built-in storage” (via The Express).

Chock expanded out of Kansas when he purchased a two-bedroom lakefront home in Oklahoma. Fortunately, the 1,924-square-foot duplex was complimented by the purchase of a Honda Seabrook boat. Chock will have no problem navigating the nearby lake, but these homes mean little incentive for a big move. Joan’s Maryland home, while fun for special occasions, can’t compare to his real estate empire.

Joan & Chock Stay Close To Family
Joan & Chock Aren’t Going Anywhere

Neither Chock nor Joan will have any incentive to leave their hometowns. Chock has found immense success through business, estate, and financial appreciation. Joan has roots in Maryland, and her family still lives nearby. It seems that with Chock’s children moving out and his separation from his ex-wife, Chock primarily remains in Kansas to further his business.

Chock’s emotional and professional connection to Wichita may anchor him to the location. Joan would have little success convincing the business-savvy star to relocate. As The Golden Bachelroette’s first couple prepares for a shared apartment in New York, they should plan for the prioritization of his hometown. It’s Chock’s favorite place, after all.
