5 Things That Still Need To Happen Before FBI: Most Wanted Ends

There are a few loose ends that need to be tied up before FBI: Most Wanted airs its final episode in May 2025. The spinoff from FBI about the Fugitive Task Force is, unfortunately, one of several shows that CBS canceled in 2025 despite its relatively high ratings. This surprising news leaves FBI: Most Wanted with only a few episodes left before it leaves the airways permanently; its finale is scheduled to air on May 20, 2025.

FBI: Most Wanted season 6 has set up several relationship arcs that will have to be resolved before the end. Additionally, there is one character whose fate is up in the air, as she could potentially return to the agency, but nothing has been set in stone. It is important for FBI: Most Wanted to tie all these loose ends up so that the series finale is satisfying rather than leaving the audience with too many unanswered questions.

Resolve Remy and Abby’s On-Again-Off-Again Relationship
Long Distance Doesn’t Always Work For Them, So They Need To Make a Decision

Remy (Dylan McDermott) has attempted to date Abby (Susan Mismer) throughout FBI: Most Wanted season 6. Abby originally lived in Missouri when she and Remy crossed paths near the end of FBI: Most Wanted season 5. Later, she moved to upstate New York, about three hours from where Remy lives. Remy and Abby have been trying to have a long-distance relationship, but have had problems for a variety of reasons.

The biggest issue between Abby and Remy is the same one he had with his most recent ex, Judge April Brooks (Wendy Muniz): Remy centers work in his life to such a degree that his partner feels shut out. However, Abby keeps trying to make it work with Remy. Thus, FBI: Most Wanted needs to decide whether this couple will stay together and answer that question before the finale.

Confirm Barnes’ Move To DC
Barnes Is Talking As If She Has The Job, But There Could Still Be A Twist

Barnes (Roxy Sternberg) applied for a job as a supervisor in D.C. so that she could be closer to her ex-wife and their children. This seems like the most logical way to wrap up her storyline, and it may be a done deal. However, it has not been completely confirmed yet. Barnes spoke to Isobel (Alana de la Garza) about getting a recommendation and to Hana (Keisha Castle-Hughes), but has not yet told Remy she may be leaving. Her reluctance to give notice suggests that there may be a twist in the story.

There would have to be a story-driven reason for this change in plans in order for it to be believable, but that shouldn’t be difficult to achieve.

Barnes could instead decide to take a leadership position with the Fugitive Task Force if Remy decides to step down at the end of the procedural. There would have to be a story-driven reason for this change in plans in order for it to be believable, but that shouldn’t be difficult to achieve. Remy could transfer to a field office closer to where Abby lives as part of his wrap-up, which would leave an opening for Barnes to take if her DC job falls through.

Establish Nina’s Fate (And Whether She Will Appear In FBI)
It’s Unclear What Will Happen To Her And Her Relationship With Scola

Nina originally worked in the New York Field Office before transferring to the Fugitive Task Force, so it makes sense for her to return to where she came from. However, this story would have to be established carefully. Nina and FBI’s Stuart Scola (John Boyd) are living together and raising their son as a couple, so there could be logistical issues related to her return to the same office that Scola works out of.

That said, it’s important to clarify what Nina’s next career move is, regardless of whether she plans to return to the New York Field Office. Her ongoing relationship with a character who will presumably still be on-screen in FBI season 8 makes it mandatory to reveal what happens to her rather than the character simply disappearing without any further explanation.

2
Offer a Final Update On Jess’ Family
Tali Could Make A Cameo Appearance

Jess LaCroix (Julian MacMahon) was killied in the line of duty during FBI: Most Wanted season 3, but he is still a popular character three years later. Thus, it would be fitting for the series to pay tribute to Jess and his family during FBI: Most Wanted’s series finale. While there is no way to bring MacMahon back for the episode that would make sense, a cameo from Jess’ daughter, Tali is logical.

It would be poignant if Tali made a cameo to reveal that she is following in her father’s footsteps and working toward joining the FBI when she is old enough.

Many subplots from the first three seasons revolved around Tali’s rebellious pre-teen and teenage behavior. However, she could have matured while off-screen, and it would be poignant if Tali made a cameo to reveal that she is following in her father’s footsteps and working toward joining the FBI when she is old enough. This arc in the final episode would offer closure to Jess’ death, as well as an update on what Tali has been doing since and would be the perfect way to honor the contribution the LaCroix family made to the first half of the procedural’s run.

Wrap Up Hana and Ethan’s Story
Ethan’s Addiction Has Been An Ongoing Issue

Hana and Ethan’s relationship imploded for a serious reason — his addiction to opiates caused too much chaos. Hana wasn’t prepared to deal with his active addiction, and the lies he told to hide it caused a serious breach of trust. However, the two remained friends, and they both risked their lives for the other while held hostage at a VA office.

Hana and Ethan seem to be moving back toward romance, but they could just as easily decide to keep things at a friendship level until Ethan has been on steadier ground. Either way, FBI: Most Wanted needs to make it clear what their relationship status is before the series draws to a close.
