5 shows to watch if you love FBI

CBS certainly loves its crime procedurals. Back in 2018, the network premiered FBI, a crime show from none other than veteran showrunner Dick Wolf. The show follows an FBI team working at the bureau’s criminal division in New York.

Since its premiere, FBI has proven to be another ratings hit for CBS, thanks to its heart-pounding storylines and adrenaline-fueled action scenes. The show also boasts a veteran ensemble cast, which includes lead star Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, and John Boyd.

So far, FBI has already run for six seasons. And if you still can’t get enough crime action after binge-watching all its episodes, here are five other shows you might want to check out too.

FBI: Most Wanted

Yes, this list has to start with a spinoff! Following the success of FBI, it made a lot of sense for CBS to turn this property into a franchise. Back in 2020, the network introduced FBI: Most Wanted, a show about the men and women who are part of the bureau’s Fugitive Task Force, the branch that targets criminals on FBI’s Top 10 Most Wanted. On this show, the agents are also played by seasoned TV stars, including Nip/Tuck star Julian McMahon and Emmy nominee Dylan McDermott.

FBI: International

CBS didn’t want to waste any time expanding the world of FBI further. In 2021, the network took the action overseas with the spinoff FBI: International. The show looks into the inner workings of the bureau’s International Fly Team who deals with threats coming from Europe. Much like the two other FBI shows, FBI: International features some familiar faces including Midway star Luke Kleintank as lead agent Scott Forrester and The Yellow Birds star Carter Redwood as Agent Andre Raines. Meanwhile, you’ll also be glad to know that the entire FBI franchise has already been renewed for another season.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Years before Wolf came to CBS with FBI, he created the long-running NBC hit Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The show is a spinoff of Wolf’s much older show, Law & Order. Law & Order: SVU looks into the inner workings of the New York Police Department’s Special Victims Unit as it investigates and arrests suspects wanted for domestic violence, sexual offenses, and human trafficking. Since premiering in 1999, the show has won six Emmys and turned star Mariska Hargitay into a household name as she continues to portray Detective Olivia Benson.

Law & Order: Organized Crime

In 2021, Wolf finally decided to expand the world of Law & Order again with the spinoff Law & Order: Organized Crime. The show sees the return of SVU star Christopher Meloni as former SVU detective Elliot Stabler. Here, he’s back with the NYPD, signing up to join the organized crime task force after experiencing a personal tragedy. And yes, his will-they-won’t-they love story with Hargitay’s Benson also continues here.

Rookie Blue

Years before Missy Peregrym got cast as Special Agent Maggie Bell on FBI, she was playing a cop in the Canadian cop series Rookie Blue. In this series, Peregrym is Andy McNally, a rookie trying to cope with life as a new cop working at the 15th Division in Toronto after graduating from the academy. Along the way, Andy would also have to deal with violent criminals, bombs, undercover sting operations, and even romances with fellow officers. Think Grey’s Anatomy but with cops, instead of doctors.
