We don’t need a second season of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story
There are still a lot of questions about Queen Charlotte Season 2. The simple fact is a second season isn’t necessary.
Whenever a series becomes popular, there are questions about renewals. That’s even the case when something is billed as a limited series, like Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
The prequel series follows the life of Queen Charlotte. We see her rise in power and her relationship with King George III. It’s a wonderful story, and of course, fans would love to see more to it. The problem is that it was written as a limited series, which means it has a clear beginning, middle, and end. That’s not stopped Netflix from asking Shonda Rhimes. It’s also not stopped her from looking at whether there is more to the story, which hints that there could be a Queen Charlotte Season 2 in the future.
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story should remain a limited series
There’s just no need for a second season of the series. This limited series was written perfectly as just that. We have the start and the end. Anything else can take place in Bridgerton.
In fact, it’s only a matter of time before Queen Charlotte will die. The series is currently set in 1815. In real history, Queen Charlotte died in 1818, just months before the birth of her granddaughter, Victoria. With only around three years left, there isn’t room for a final story about her.
There’s nothing wrong with keeping a limited series as a limited series. Allow us to enjoy the story for what it is. The trick to a great show is to leave people wanting more, and that’s what has happened here.
Rhimes did point out to Entertainment Weekly that the story is closed-ended. She doesn’t want to create another story for the sake of it, but she isn’t ruling it out.
